I have to admit, as much as I have thrived on routine and structure in the past I have not been very good at setting it up for myself until now (knock wood). Using charts for the first time, and actually keeping the amount of change small (one new thing a week) has helped in my success (yes, I know, it's only been 14 days) so far.
Care to share? What does your routine consist of? What have you done in the past to help ensure yourself success when changing your routine or implementing a new one?

My daily routine ...
1. My alarm goes off at the perfect time to get up, get ready, make a healthy breakfast, make my lunch, feed the dog and out the door to get to work at a reasonable time.
2. I curse the alarm for hating me then begin to decide what needs to be rearranged.
- I can always grab something out of a vending machine at work for breakfast. - 10 more minutes
- I can just got out for lunch, its not so bad if I get a Subway sandwich. - 5 more minutes
- I'm sure the dog will just get into the trash again while I'm at work. - 5 more minutes
- You know I showered yesterday and I do have my nice t-shirt worn only once laying there. - 5 more minutes.
- Yesterday, I did only take 57 minutes of lunch and stayed that 2 minutes later than I had planned. They owe me - 10 more minutes
3. Jump out of bed 5 minutes after the drop dead time to leave the house. Splash some water in my face, toss on my nice t-shirt, spill dog food from container to dish and go.
4. Get to the freeway to see back up and start attributing my lateness to traffic.
5. Get to work and discover the majority of my co-workers are still not there and ease into my morning.
6. Remember I only did the bare minimum in morning "getting ready" and my stomach reminds me we have a private meeting.
7. Feeling lighter spend the rest of the morning surfing the internet and answering random emails about how Ill get right on it.
7. Realize that there is only 50 minutes until lunch so I can not possibly get started on anything as I will just be interrupted.
8. Eat Mexican sit down requiring tip instead of Subway. That's where everyone else was going.
9. Get back to work and regret eating all that Mexican food. Let the food settle as I respond to a random blog post.
10. Afternoon meeting with self
11. Get enough done to appear like I worked. Remembering to say loud enough for everyone to hear. Man today has been crazy.
12. Notice that I have 30 minutes left of work.
- Yesterday, I did only take 57 minutes of lunch and stayed that 2 minutes later than I had planned, to answer that question. They owe me
13. Leave work planning on going to the gym. Wait the gym just inst going to work today but tomorrow its on!
14. Get home and plop on the couch. Switch between news and reruns of Everyone Loves Raymond. Think to myself ... wow Debra is a bitch, you should divorce her Ray.
15. Start the process of determining what to eat.
- Well I have fish but its frozen and I'm pretty hungry. Screw it Burger King it is.
16. 8pm -- Ahhh finally a little me time. Maybe some internet time, that Tivo is starting to fill up ... ahhh Netflix came today. I better pop that in.
17. Get ready for bed. Watch some random late night talk shows and slowly fall asleep.
18 Wake up about 1 AM, turn off TV and look forward to waking up on time and starting my day right.

When it comes to implementing a new routine ... why mess with what works!

Hi Juli,
Thanks for leaving me a comment on my blog. I'm glad that you found me. Korean Jews like ourselves can definitely use more support network. I hear that there are quite a few living in New York. I have a couple of friends who are Korean Jews, but I'm always on the look out for new ones.
Your blog looks very inspirational!
